Something for Me

This post is a ridiculous long time in coming!

I have loved these beautiful circle skirts by Rosie over at Rosie's Whimsy on Etsy.

*Picture from her Etsy store here is link to buy this skirt!

Rosie was so sweet to post this awesome tutorial on her blog to make your own circle skirt!

I printed the tutorial and put it in my "need to make this" binder. Which is getting quite large with me actually  accomplishing very few things from it! I am positive no other sewers I know have this problem. ;)

Then, I was in my local quilt shop. A giant quilt shop, and they had the poppy collection in fresh from Laura Gunn for Michael Miller Fabrics (now you know how long it took me to post this, I made the skirt right after these prints were for sale, retail.). Well, I was instantly in love with this line once it debuted, just like Lantern Bloom and so I had to get some of it. Right. Then. And. There.

And I decided to be selfish and spoil myself with a Rosie skirt done up in some of Laura's poppies.

And you know what, I LOVE it!

I actually decided to cut the poppy print at an angle and then added a pretty little white layer under it. It has a dainty dotted flower print that is just marvelous.

I also made another one up that I thought I might sell locally but couldn't part with it. It is of some upcycled jean bottoms and pieced fat quarters from the Make Life Collection by Sweetwater for Moda.

The Beautiful photos of the double layered skirt in Laura Gunn's prints are by my fabulous sister! Check out her blog and website at
