For Joplin

My heart hurts for all of the people in Joplin.  It hurts for those who have lost everything they have.  For those who have lost almost everything they have. For those who lost their lives.  For those who are mourning the loss of those lives. And for so, so much more.

I am not from Joplin but I know people who are, I know people who live close to Joplin.  And I know people who have family & friends in Joplin.  From the moment I heard about the tornado and all that ensued my soul searched for ways I could help.

I have received word from many in Joplin about reputable places that are accepting donations to help in aiding the city and its' citizens.

Here's how you and I can help. We can donate our money, our time, ourselves.  Whatever you can do to help.  And to give a little more encouragement, several AMAZING & WONDERFUL designers that I know  have donated some spectacular prizes!

So here's the deal, To win one of these GREAT Prizes
(Pictures below) just do one of the following:

1.   If you donate or have donated to help with the recovery and aid of Joplin, Missouri, than leave a comment saying so.

If needed, here are two great places accepting donations to aid Joplin:

 2.   Leave a comment if you have already or will be volunteering with the recovery.

3.  If you can't seem to donate money, Convoy of Hope, also accepts product donations.

Every little bit helps.  Send $5 or send $20!  However much you can, because together we really can make a difference! (totally crying right now)

Aubrey, way to go!! This is a wonderful thing you're doing. I usually have a bag of stuff I take to the women's shelter close to my work and home at least once a month (after being encouraged to give again by another blog). I though this month I'd give it to the Joplin need instead but decided instead to do a bit extra and give to both. And a bit of cash to Red Cross. Thanks so much for this. I used to live close and even when you live in "Tornado Alley" you never think it's going to be that bad

My heart breaks for the town. We donated directly through the Red Cross, and I donated through a friend doing an Avon fundraiser for the Red Cross also. Thanks so much for doing this!

I volunteer with the red cross and worked in the area of the tornados here in Mass and sent packages to the people down south. I spend an average of 20 hrs per week volunteering my time, and collect qulits for the people down there as well.

Some of us Tweeps put together a quilt. @caraquilts donated her new Avalanche pattern & several of us made blocks. Check out @ws_on_etsy's recent blog post to see the final result. (I don't like putting links in comments so sorry to make you search it out.) :)
