Finishing Those Edges
Please, for the love of all that is sewing, I ask that you finish the edges of your fabric.
You do not need a serger to this. In fact you can finish the edges using one of 3-basic stitches found on any sewing machine.
1. 3-step zig-zag stitch on the edge of your fabric.
2. Regular zig-zag stitch on the edge of your fabric.
3. Using pinking shears, cut the edge of the fabric.
Then sew a straight stitch 1/4" from the edge of fabric.
Why finish your edges?
Because it will keep the edges from fraying.
It will make your seam allowances look professional.
It will make me happy. ;)
P.S. This is meant for edges of finished garments and accessories not quilts.
