Let's Get Classy: Tie Front Tote by Two Peas in a Pod Designs, Online Sewing Class Review

Do you know Trish of Two Peas in a Pod Homegrown Designs?  If you don't you should go visit her site and get to know all about Trish and her line of patterns, Sprouts!

One of Trish's patterns is this cute Tie Tote!

And, Trish decided to put together an online class for this tote!
I cannot say enough nice things about Trish and now I cannot say enough nice things about this class!
I had a blast following along and putting together my own Tie Front Tote.  In fact, I am looking forward to toting it around tomorrow!

Criteria 1:
Organization of Instructions
Instructions are neatly organized there are written instructions and how-to videos for all parts.

  Layout
There are three sections, each section starts  with a step by step video of instructions.  After each video are written instructions so that you can follow along with the class either way and at your own pace.
It's a great mix of a pattern and a class that you can attend at your own convenience.

Criteria 2:
Ease of Instructions
Instructions are clear to follow and well written.

Diagrams
Since there is a video for all steps there are no diagrams.
The videos are crisp, clear and easy to follow.  When you enlarge them you can easily see each step as Trish walks you through the pattern.

Are Additional Manuals Necessary
Trish covers everything in the videos.  She even goes over how to fuse fusible interfacing.

Criteria 3:
     Level of Experience Required
Beginner, Intermediate or Expert

Beginner.

Anyone who knows how to iron and use their sewing machine can put together this super cute bag!
Trish takes you through each step in the videos and there are no really difficult maneuvers or techniques
to complete this pattern.  And it WILL look great no matter your level of experience!

Criteria 4:
Amount Of Time
Including cutting time, this took me about 3 hours to put together from start to finish.  I think it would take about an hour and a half or so to make it a second time.

The cutting (like most patterns), is what would take the longest each time.  Not that the cutting is difficult.   Very simple pieces that fit together very nicely.

Criteria 5:
Repeatability

Would I make it Again?

Yes.  Every time I make a bag pattern I want to make about 10 more of the same bag in a variety of colors.  It's a good thing I don't have a LOT of time or my husband would have issues with all of the bags I would make!
This pattern in particular is so fast and the look is so versatile that I would definitely make a whole bunch more.

Would I recommend this to family, friends or other quilters?
Yes.  In fact I think this is would be great for many of my friends who have been saying they want to learn to sew.  And definitely my mom!  They would  enjoy the pattern and the videos to showing them what to do.  I just think everyone would really enjoy this class.

Criteria 6:
   Final Thoughts and Personal Experience
The advantage to an online class like this over going to a class is that, whenever I needed, I was able to pause, rewind or fast forward to review any step.

The videos are very high quality.  And, honestly just a ton of fun, great music and professionally put together.  This is no thrown together little how-to.  It's a real, professional sewing class on video!  If you register for this class, you will not be sorry!
This was a fabulous class and pattern and I definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to try out an online class.  And to any nervous beginners who would feel more comfortable taking a sewing class at home.

Pick me please(I hate saying that! but i am seperate to get a bag under my belt I have a made a very simple tote but currently have three bags that I have tried to make but due to lack of knowledge and confidence stay in a bag unfinished in my closet...I would be very glad to get them out and finish them if I had a little encouragement and help and your course might be just the injection of same needed here.(It would take a weight off my conscience too because they were all to have been gifts but never quite got there if you know what I mean and I'd love to hand them over completed!)

Trish has designed another winner! Was lucky enough to meet her when she spoke to our quilt guild. The online class is a winner. Leave it to Trish. Of course, I'd love to win a chance to give it a try. I've never done any online classes but I think this would be a great one. Busy as I am, it is hard to fit my schedule into the times that classes are given at shops. This one would be perfect for me.
